Justus Harris (they/he) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer combining bio art, technology, and performance to focus on health and healing. Their international practice has taken them to Château du Feÿ in France to collaborate with leading scientists on topics around spirituality, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as a Citizen Artists Fellow, and Berlin as a European Commission Recipient. As an educator, Justus focuses on public speaking and facilitation, including features at TEDx and Stanford Medicine X.

“My practice is one of self-experimentation focusing on reframing the precarious embodied experience often facilitated by technology. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 14, soon after coming out. I quickly realized the stigma around being queer and disabled. My practice creates paths in the worlds of fine arts and healthcare by expressing what it’s like to be alive in a body constantly alternating between joy and trauma impacted by the social, ecological, and environmental determinants of health.”
